World Champions paced by three goals by Azevedo. USA tied the
game on the goal of the night as Azevedo whipped home a lefty
backhander that left the crowd buzzing to tie the score at 4-4.
That was followed by Azevedo drawing a five meter which Ryan
Bailey cashed in on and USA was back in front 5-4. The U.S.
had trailed 3-1. |

in Goleta, the Americans surrendered a three-goal lead to the
Aussies. The U.S. led 4-1 after the firsst period, but held
to just a 5-4 halftime lead, before the Aussies scored four
unanswered to lead 8-6. The U.S. tied it at 9-9 with 5:41 remaining
only to watch Australia score one more time with 23 seconds
left to put the contest away. |
